Summary

By her will dated 18 August 2010, the late Diane Adrienne Lemaire bequeathed one fifth of her residuary estate to the University, establishing 'The Diane Lemaire Scholarship'. Each scholarship is awarded 'to an outstanding student undertaking a graduate degree within Melbourne School of Engineering', as determined by the dean of the faculty, on the recommendation of the faculty's associate dean (research) or nominee. The University also determined that 'the scholarship will be open to applications from female students undertaking a doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree. The scholarship was made a University regulation in 2014.
