Summary

Hilda May Gibbons late of Moonee Ponds, Victoria, who graduated as Bachelor of Arts on 21 April 1928, and thereafter taught in both Primary and Secondary Schools during her 48 years of service in the Victorian Education Department, bequeathed subject to certain legacies her residuary estate to the University of Melbourne and directed that:

'The income thereof shall be applied in perpetuity by the University for the purpose of providing bursaries awarded to medical students who intend to become general practitioners and not psychologists or psychiatrists and the bursaries be of such value as the Council of the University may determine from time to time and shall be called "The Hilda Gibbons Bursary or Bursaries'.'
