The sum of $3,150 was subscribed by friends and associates of Gilbert Howard Vasey and presented to the University to commemorate the many outstanding contributions made by him in connection with Agricultural Engineering and Farm Machinery during his 35 years' service in the University and as head of the department of Agricultural Engineering until his retirement in February 1971. The subscribers requested that the moneys be used to create a prize or scholarship or be used for other purposes associated with Agricultural Engineering.
