Frederick Bryan, late of Highdene Guildford in the County of Surrey, formerly of 49 Harley Street in the County of Middlesex, Medical Practitioner, who died on 12 July 1922, bequeathed the residue of his estate to the University of Melbourne to use for the endowment of a scholarship or scholarships in Natural Science. The scholarships are to be awarded and held in such manner as the trustees shall think fit and be named (if the said trustees consider proper) the "Bryan Scholarship or Scholarships" in memory of his mother and of the benefits conferred upon him in early life. The University received the sum of $14,028 in satisfaction of the bequest.
