Roland Ravenscroft Wettenhall, dermatologist and historian, late of Melbourne, who died on 21 July 1965, bequeathed to the University $2,000 for the purpose of endowing a prize to be called the "Dennis-Wettenhall Prize" in memory of his parents, Holford Highlord Wettenhall and Margaret Burgess Wettenhall (nee Dennis), pioneers of the Wimmera and of the Western District of Victoria, prominent in local government and in the early development of the wool industry, for research work in the field of Australian history and in particular the history of pioneering and land settlement in Australia.
