- Summary
James Perrins Major late of 3 Moonga Road, Toorak, Victoria, physician and for long a member of the Standing Committee of Convocation, who died on 16 July 1962, bequeathed to the University the sum of $4,000 to be held as follows-
"I EXPRESS it to be my wish that. . .the sum of two thousand pounds hereinbefore bequeathed to the University be invested by it and that the income therefrom be applied in perpetuity for a scholarship to be known as the J. F. Major Memorial Scholarship, in memory of my son James Frank Major a former Commerce graduate of the University who died on active service."
