Regulations and Statutes UTR6.065 Lady Huntingfield Memorial Scholarship (1943 - )

Memorial and Scholarship

The Lady Huntingfield Memorial Scholarship fund memorialises Lady Huntingfield, wife of the Fifth Baron Huntingfield, Governor of Victoria from 1934 to 1939, who had great interest in work for women and children. The fund provides a scholarship or scholarships called 'The Lady Huntingfield Memorial Scholarship', which is open for competition among women students who are qualified to enter, and are for the first time entering, the course for the degree of bachelor of Social Work.

The University received the sum of £1,000 in September 1943, and a regulation to govern the Scholarship was published in the University Calendar in 1944.

At some point between the publication of the 2009 Calendar and October 2018 this scholarship went from falling under the jurisdiction of the Faculty of Arts, to that of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences.
