- Summary
The late Lilian Edith Grant of South Yarra, Victoria, bequeathed £2,000 to the University for the purpose of establishing the 'David Grant Prize' in memory of her husband. 'The prize is awarded annually to the candidate who, in the opinion of the examiners submits the best thesis for the degree of Doctor of Medicine.' The testatrix also specified that the winner of the prize must be awarded 'a bronze medal suitably inscribed so as to identify the donor and the winner of the prize.' The scholarship was made a University regulation in 1943.
