Summary

The late Miss Eleanor Elizabeth Heriot Chrisp, who died at Lilydale on 28 July 1928, bequeathed her residuary estate to the University for the purpose of establishing the 'John G Chrisp Law Bursary' in memory of her late brother. Each bursary is awarded 'to a student enrolled in either the course for the degree of bachelor of Laws or the course for the degree of Juris Doctor.' Applicants must also produce evidence to the Dean of Melbourne Law School 'that without assistance they would suffer financial hardship.' The bursary was made a University regulation in 1931.
