Summary

In the 1920s Sir John M. Higgins and Lady Higgins presented £2,250 and a further £2,250 to the University, establishing the 'Veterinary Research Fund' and the 'Agricultural Research Fund' respectively. Research scholars appointed through these funds were to be known as a 'J.M. Higgins Research Scholar' and any work they produced was to bear the imprint 'J.M. Higgins Research Foundation'. The foundation was made a University regulation in 1927.
