Regulations and Statutes UTR6.010 Ormond Exhibitions and Scholarships in Music (1897 - )

Exhibition and Scholarship

In 1897 a donation of £5,217 12s. 7d. was made to the University for the purpose of founding exhibitions and scholarships for the encouragement of the study of Music, in connection with the Ormond chair of Music in the University. This established the 'Ormond Exhibitions and Scholarships in Music Fund'. The exhibitions are awarded to students in the second and third year of a Bachelor of Music, and the scholarship is awarded for postgraduate study or research in the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music. The fund was made a University regulation in 1897 (University of Melbourne Calendar, 1975).
