The Wimmera Health Care Group was established on 1 November 1995, after the Wimmera Base Hospital (formerly Horsham Hospital) and the Dimboola District Hospital officially amalgamated.

Wimmera Health Care Group is located in the Wimmera sub-region of the Grampians and has two locations - Horsham and Dimboola - which together 'service an area of 61,000 square kilometres and a population of approximately 54,000.'
