Summary

By a memorandum of gift dated 14 August 2017, Prof Emeritus Collette Tayler donated the $194,000 to the University for the purpose of establishing the 'the Collette Tayler Indigenous Education Scholarship'. Each scholarship is awarded to 'Indigenous Australians who have enrolled or are enrolling in the course for the degree of Master of Teaching (Early Childhood or Early Years)...with a preference for female students'. 'If no such eligible candidates exist in any given year, or where sufficient funds allow, then the fund may also support research involving Indigenous children and families in the field of early childhood education'. The scholarship was made a University regulation in 2018.
