Summary

The Beaton Family donated $40,000 to the University, establishing 'The John Beaton Prize' in memory of their son and brother John Stuart Beaton. 'The prize will be open to both domestic and international students and awarded annually on the basis of academic performance and exceptional teamwork in the subject: Master of Advanced Software Engineering Project SWEN90013'. In the event of two students displaying equal academic achievement and level of teamwork, 'the prize will be determined by the Head of the Department of Computing and Information Systems'. The prize was made a University regulation in 2017.
