Summary: On 14 June 2016 John D. and Dagnija Balmford pledged $120,000 to the University to be paid in four instalments between 2016 and 2019, for the purpose of establishing 'The John D. and Dagnija Balmford Travel Grant'. Each travel grant will be awarded to 'students studying accounting at the University who are in financial need'. The grant was made a University regulation in 2017 and was first awarded in that year due to an additional donation of $6,000 by the donor.
