Summary

In December 2016, friends of Miranda Jane Hughes donated $67,044.09 to the University, establishing 'The Miranda Jane Hughes Scholarship' in honour of the late Miranda Hughes. Each scholarship is awarded 'to students enrolled in the Faculty of Arts' with preference given to 'students undertaking research in the humanities in historical, philosophical or cultural studies of the body, health or science' or 'students enrolled in a research higher degree in the above or cognate areas of research'. Preference is also given to female students. The scholarship was made a University regulation in 2017 and was first awarded in that same year due to an additional donation of $2,500 by the donor.
