Summary

By a memorandum of gift date 18 June 2015, the trustee for the Andrew and Geraldine Buxton Foundation pledged to donate $200,000.00, establishing the Andrew and Geraldine Buxton Athletics Scholarship. One scholarship is 'awarded annually to an undergraduate or post graduate student athlete who has demonstrated academic merit and excellence in the sport of athletics'. The scholarship is awarded 'on the recommendation of a selection committee appointed by the Director of Melbourne University Sport' and preference is 'given to students who have the potential to represent Australia at upcoming Olympic and Commonwealth Games.' The scholarship was made a University regulation in 2017.
