By a memorandum of gift dated 18 January 2016, the John Button Foundation Limited donated $150,000 to the University, establishing the 'John Button Fund' in memory of the late John Norman Button. The fund, which is managed within the Melbourne School of Government, supports public policy fellowships and prizes, including the 'John Button School Prize'. The fund was made a University regulation in 2016.
