Summary

By a memorandum of gift dated 10 November 2015, $90,000 was donated to the University, establishing the 'Hilary McPhee Award'. The award supports 'writers making contributions to the Melbourne University Publishing Limited (MUP) publication, the Meanjin Journal or any replacement or successor publication to that journal'. The 'University will ask MUP to provide a shortlist of candidates for the Award, from which the Dean of the Faculty [of Arts] (or nominee) will select the recipient in consultation with the Chief Executive Officer of MUP.' The award was made a University regulation in 2016.
