Dr Betty Rosina Elliot, who died on 20 March 2014, bequeathed to the University $125,000, establishing the 'Dr Betty Elliot Science Scholarship'. Each scholarship is awarded to 'one or more undergraduate students in financial need, who have academic ability and who are studying Science at the University'. The scholarship was made a University regulation in 2015.
