By her will dated 31 March 2010, the late Jean Jackson BSc Melb, PhD (Malaya) (nee Millis) bequeathed $100,000 to the University, establishing 'The Millis Jackson Research Grant'. Each grant is awarded 'to students undertaking research in biotechnology or environmental microbiology'. The grant was made a University regulation in 2014.
