On 25 November 2013, David William 'Bill' Rogers LLB Melb, LLD (honoris causa) Monash AO, lawyer and company director gave the sum of $50,000 to the University, establishing 'The Irene Rogers (Lowe) Scholarship for Agriculture' in memory of his mother, the late Irene Myrtle Rogers (née Lowe), who was the first female student at Dookie College. Each scholarship is awarded 'to outstanding female students undertaking studies in agriculture' on the basis of academic excellence as determine by the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences. The scholarship was made a University regulation in 2014.
