On 29 September 2011, Kerry Dianne Bradley and Michele Ann Gannon-Miller each gave the sum of $50,000 to the University, establishing 'The Dr James (Jim) Richard Gannon Scholarship' in memory of their father. 'The University also received further gifts of $2,500 from each of the donors to facilitate the award of one or more scholarships in 2012.' Each scholarship is awarded 'to a Veterinary Science student with a strong interest in small animal clinical sciences with preference given to students with demonstrable interest in greyhounds.' The scholarship was made a University regulation in 2011 and first awarded in 2012.
