- Summary
On 21 March 2011, Professor Emeritus Harold Ford gave the sum of $100,000 to the University, establishing 'The Gwenda Ford English Literature Scholarships' in memory of his late wife, Gwenda Ford BA (Melb), who died in April 2008. Each scholarship is awarded to either an undergraduate student enrolled in the third year of their course and is completing a major in English literature, or a postgraduate student undertaking a research project in English literature. The scholarships are also awarded based on financial need, as determined by the dean of the Faculty of Arts, on the recommendation of the head of the academic unit responsible for English literature. The scholarship was made a University regulation in 2011.
