By his will dated 27 June 1957, the late Sir Alfred Edward Rowden White CMG, MB Melb., MD Melb. bequeathed his real and personal estate which he had not otherwise disposed of to his trustees, for the separate establishment of the A.E. Rowden White and Edward R White Foundation for Medical Research and the A.E. Rowden White Foundation. The University is the trustee of these funds, and in 2009 establish a perpetual trust for scholarships called 'The Rowden White Scholarships Fund'. The Fund provides fifteen graduate scholarships annually for students in the School of Dental Science, the Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences, the School of Medicine, the Melbourne School of Engineering, and the Faculty of Science. The fund was made a University regulation in 2011.
