On 24 May 2010, anonymous donors contributed the sum of $50,000 to the University, with an additional sum of $200,000 being donated in November 2010 and a further donation of $18,000 being provided to fund one or more scholarships in 2011. In so-doing, the 'Commerce at International House Scholarship' fund was established. Each scholarship is awarded to a student who is an Australian citizen from rural or regional Victoria who is enrolled in an undergraduate commerce degree and is or will be a resident of International House, with preference given to financial need. The scholarship is awarded by the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Economics on the recommendation of a selection committee. The fund was made a University regulation in 2010.
