Summary: By his will dated 21 August 2006, the late Peter Cecil Reid bequeathed his entire residuary estate to the University, establishing 'The Peter Reid Memorial Scholarship'. Each scholarship is awarded to a student on the basis of academic excellence and financial need. The scholarship is awarded by the Provost on the recommendation of the managers responsible for scholarships in the Melbourne Scholarships Office. The fund was made a University regulation in 2010.
