By her will dated 22 May 2007, the late Mary Goldsworthy, BSc, GDipEd Melb., bequeathed one-half of her estate to the University, establishing the 'N.D. Goldsworthy Fund for Physics' to memorialise her husband Norman Dudley Goldsworthy. Each scholarship is awarded to a postgraduate student studying physics on the basis of scholastic achievement and financial circumstances. The scholarship is awarded by the Provost on the recommendation of the Dean of the Faculty of Science and the Head of the School of Physics. The fund was made a University regulation in 2010.
