On 12 December 2009, David Wiesenfeld Pty Ltd gave the sum of $20,000 to the University, establishing 'The Mavis and Ivan Rowe Prize for Retinal Diseases Research Fund' to memorialise the parents of Alison Margaret Wiesenfeld, a director of the donor. Each prize is awarded to a student who is researching retinal diseases at the University or at the Centre for Eye Research Australia ('CERA'), preferably research regarding age-related macular degeneration. The fund was made a University regulation in 2010.
