On or about 26 February 2007, Joan Kent and John Battersby donated the sum of $200,000.00. The fund is named in memory of their sister, the late Olive Battersby BA (Melb), who worked for the University from 1948 until 1987. Her roles included that of assistant to a former dean of Education, tutor, and librarian in the former faculty of Education for 14 years.
