Dr Annie Margaret McArthur Oliver of 4051 Black Point Road, Honolulu, Hawaii, who died on 12 May 2002 by her will bequeathed- 'my apartment located at 37 Morton Street, Apartment 1, Wollstonecraft, Sydney, NSW, Australia, to the University OF MELBOURNE, Melbourne, Australia, and it is my desire that it be used for a post-graduate fellowship at a senior level at the University of Melbourne to be called the 'Thomas and Margaret Ruth McArthur Fellowship', which fellowship is also being funded by my Trust Agreement dated August 7, 1987, as amended, it being my desire that a preference be given to woman candidates for post-doctoral work…'.
