Summary

Pursuant to the Melbourne University (VCAH) Act 1997 the University and the Victorian College of Agriculture and Horticulture were amalgamated to form the Institute of Land and Food Resources within the University and the University acquired a company, Land and Food Services Limited. The company's constitution provided that in the event of it being wound up its residual property 'must be transferred to The University of Melbourne for the purposes of the Institute.' In 2004 the Institute of Land and Food Resources became the Faculty of Land and Food Resources. The University held the company funds and on the company being deregistered on 6 February 2005 the sum of $276,215.42 became available and was used to establish 'The Land and Food Services Scholarships Fund'.

Details

The Fund is to be applied to providing The Land and Food Services Scholarships awarded to students enrolled in the second year of a TAFE Advanced course who are considered likely to articulate into a degree course.
