- Summary
Mrs Gwenda Dorothy Ulbrich of 'Tarra', Musk Creek Road, Flinders, Victoria, between 1984 and 1990 donated the sum of $35,000 to the University to establish a research award in geosciences. The Award is known as The P.J. Adams Research Award to commemorate the donor's father, Percival John Adams, who contributed to the exploration and development of the mineral resources of Australia, was the founder of Alba Petroleum and after its amalgamation with Ampol, Chairman of the latter for many years. It was the donor's wish that the Award provide financial assistance to a postgraduate research student.
