In 2001, Mr K Robert Eisner of East Ivanhoe in the State of Victoria gave to the University the sum of $250,000 to endow a scholarship in memory of his late wife, Otti Veit, a former teacher of violoncello in the faculty of Music, who died on 21 October 2000. It was the donor's wish that the scholarship be known as the Otti Veit Violoncello Scholarship.
