Mrs. Eugenie Johnston, late of 1 The Boulevard, Darebin, Victoria, who died on 1 December 1999, by her will dated 12 October 1992, divided her residuary estate into 'twenty equal parts' and directed her trustee to pay or transfer five (5) of such parts to The University of Melbourne. The funds were to be used to provide scholarships or bursaries to be known as 'The Hugh and Eugenie Johnston Scholarship' (or Bursary as the case may be) to assist needy and deserving medical students and scholarships or bursaries to be known as 'The Eugenie La Gerche Scholarship' (or Bursary as the case may be) to assist needy and deserving Fine Arts students.
