The late Arno Herpe, formerly of 92/193 Domain Rd, South Yarra in Victoria, chemical engineer, who died on 14 August 1998, by his will dated 9 January 1996 requested that fifteen per cent of the residue of his estate be given to the University of Melbourne for the purpose of endowing a fund to be known as "the Arno Herpe Memorial Foundation". The income from the Foundation must be applied by the University for the assistance and encouragement for post graduate studies by two civil engineering graduates of the University who are descendant from indigenous natives of the South Pacific area, including Australia and New Zealand.
