Mrs Elizabeth Slezak, late of 15 Fenwick Street, Kew, who died on 6 November 1985, gave a life interest in her estate to her husband who died in 1989. Mrs Slezak's Will provided that, five years after her husband's death, her trustees dispose of her residuary estate "....between such of the Organisations and Institutions in such portions and for such purposes mentioned in clause 3(b)(iii) of my Will as my Trustees in their discretion shall select....". One of the four Organisations and Institutions cited in Mrs Slezak's Will was the Department of French Studies of the University of Melbourne.
