- Summary
The trustees of the Helen M. Schutt Trust in 1990 donated the sum of $200,000 to the University to endow fellowships to the Melbourne Business School. The Trustees considered that women were under-represented in management positions and had in the past, for a variety of reasons, been discouraged from and disadvantaged in study, teaching and research in the management area. In order to reduce the disadvantage suffered by women in, or interested in management, a programme was to be established for fellowships to be awarded to women on specific terms and conditions.
