Friends and colleagues of the late Dr A.E. Floyd, Organist and Master of the Choristers at St Paul's Cathedral for over thirty years, formed a committee in 1981 to launch an appeal for funds to commemorate Dr Floyd by the establishment of a scholarship to enable outstanding young Australian musicians to study overseas. The committee raised the sum of $9,064.
