Summary

Daisy Esther Anne Jane Smith, late of 52 Grange Road, Toorak, who died on 16 July 1952, bequeathed the sum of £1,000 to the University 'to establish an Entrance Scholarship to be awarded to the person or persons and subject to such conditions and tenable for such periods as the Council or Board for the time… shall in its discretion determine'. Smith expressed a desire that the scholarship should be known as 'The Edwin Nonus Smith Scholarship'. The University received £1,000 in satisfaction of the bequest.
