In 1951 Thomas Allan McKay donated £1,000 to the University for the purpose of establishing the 'T. Allan McKay Pianoforte Scholarship Fund'. The fund supports the 'T. Allan McKay Pianoforte Scholarship' which is awarded annually 'to a student who is pursuing the course for the degree of bachelor of Music and is specialising in pianoforte performance.' The fund was made a University regulation in 1951.
