By her will, the late Mrs Annie Pemberton of Pyrland Hall, Taunton, England, bequeathed £2,000 to the University for the purpose of establishing one or more scholarships in the memory of her mother, Margaret Catto. Each 'Margaret Catto Scholarship' is awarded to a student 'enrolled for higher degree study in the discipline of zoology', as determined by 'the head of the academic unit within the Faculty of Science responsible for the discipline of zoology.' The scholarship was made a University regulation in 1933.
